Job Title: Full-Time HR Apprentice Head Office, Boston

We have a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic apprentice to gain a year’s
valuable work experience in our very busy but friendly HR department.
This will give you a great platform from which to establish a career in HR.

You will be responsible for a wide variety of HR and Payroll admin tasks, including writing and posting vacancy notices, making job offers, issuing new starter paperwork, responding to reference requests, and handling
telephone and e-mail enquiries.

You must have good levels of literacy and numeracy, and be able to write letters and use spreadsheets. As accuracy is paramount, you must be conscientious,
with superb attention to detail. You will also need the ability to prioritise
your workload, as well as a confident telephone manner.

The contract is for a fixed term of up to one year during which you will be
required to complete a Business and Administration apprenticeship.

Extension of the employment contract and further study support may be considered dependent on performance and the business requirement at the time.

You will be working 35 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday, including course time. You should be able to offer a flexible approach to working times and days.

Downtown Furniture Store, Boston


Job Title: Full-Time Soft Furnishing Workroom Measurer/ Fitter Downtown Boston
Closing Date: Thursday 30th October 2014

We are looking to recruit a fully experienced estimator to join the Soft Furnishings Sales & Service teams at our Downtown Boston store.

You will visit customers’ homes / premises to measure for curtains, blinds and any other soft furnishing products as required. A high degree of accuracy is essential.

A major part of the role will be the fitting of curtains and blinds. This will require you to demonstrate practical hands-on skills (including the use of manual and electrical tools) and a keen eye for detail. You should be well presented, literate, numerate, possess excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate at all levels. Previous experience in a similar sales / service role would be beneficial.

A full driving licence is essential.

The vacancy is full-time requiring you to work 37.25 hours a week on varying shifts over five days out of seven between Sunday and Saturday, weekends and evenings are only occasional as business needs require. You should be able to offer a flexible approach to working days and times.

We require an enthusiastic full-time administrator to join the Distribution team based at our Downtown Boston store.

You should possess excellent customer service skills, be PC literate, numerate and accurate with a good attention to detail. Duties will include customer care, data input, filing, plus other general office tasks as required. You will also be responsible for booking in customer deliveries therefore an excellent telephone manner is essential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant to join the Distribution team at our Downtown Boston store on a fixed-term basis for up to 6 months.

Duties will include locating and picking stock, some of which may be very bulky,
and assisting customers with their purchases. You should be well presented,

paperwork according to Company policy.

Job Title: Self-Employed Carpet Fitters Required Downtown Grantham
Closing Date: Monday 3rd November 2014

We are currently looking to expand our supply base of self-employed carpet fitters to complete jobs on behalf of Oldrids & Downtown on a flexible basis. The work will entail fitting a wide range of floor coverings from carpet and vinyl to Karndean and Ted Todd wooden floors.

As a Downtown sub-contractor you would be expected to provide excellent customer service, have an outstanding knowledge of fitting and take great pride in your work. You will need to liaise closely with the Estimators and the Sales team in the allocation and completion of jobs. We would expect you to have your own vehicle and fitters insurance and be flexible in your approach to work (completing customer’s fittings on weekdays and weekends).
