Job Title: Part-Time HR Officer Oldrids, Boston

We are currently seeking a high-calibre and experienced HR Officer to join our friendly HR and Payroll team and support our HR Manager in the provision of a top-quality, commercially-focused HR service to line managers and employees across our multi-million-pound retail business.

Based at our Head Office in Boston, with occasional travel to our five other sites across Lincolnshire, this is a truly generalist role with a focus on recruitment and employee relations.

To be considered for this opportunity you must have previous experience in a similar role (although not necessarily within retail), a keen eye for detail, the ability to communicate effectively in writing and over the telephone, and excellent IT skills (including MS Word and Excel).

You must also have the confidence and enough knowledge of employment law to be able to handle routine HR enquiries from line managers.

This is a part-time role, with the flexibility to negotiate your own hours of work, however you would need to be able to commit to 24 hours per week as a minimum.

You will ideally be CIPD qualified (or working towards it) and willing and able to work additional hours as and when required. Although not essential, previous line
management and / or payroll experience would be advantageous.

Job Title: Part-Time Sales Assistant Cards & Gifts Oldrids Boston

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant to join the Sales team at our Oldrids, Boston store.

Primarily based on the Cards and Gifts department, you should be well presented, have good sales experience with a keen interest in the products on offer and possess excellent customer service skills. You should be literate, numerate and accurate with the ability to confidently handle all administration required.

Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial.

Hours will be 25 per week, worked on varying shifts over up to 5 days out of 7 between Sunday and Saturday, including regular evenings and weekends. You should have a flexible approach to working times and be available to work additional hours if required including during school and college holiday periods and on Bank Holidays.

Downtown Furniture Store, Boston


Job Title: Full-Time Soft Furnishing Workroom Measurer/ Fitter Downtown Boston
Closing Date: Thursday 30th October 2014

We are looking to recruit a fully experienced estimator to join the Soft Furnishings Sales & Service teams at our Downtown Boston store.

You will visit customers’ homes / premises to measure for curtains, blinds and any other soft furnishing products as required. A high degree of accuracy is essential.

A major part of the role will be the fitting of curtains and blinds. This will require you to demonstrate practical hands-on skills (including the use of manual and electrical tools) and a keen eye for detail. You should be well presented, literate, numerate, possess excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate at all levels. Previous experience in a similar sales / service role would be beneficial.

A full driving licence is essential.

The vacancy is full-time requiring you to work 37.25 hours a week on varying shifts over five days out of seven between Sunday and Saturday, weekends and evenings are only occasional as business needs require. You should be able to offer a flexible approach to working days and times.

Downtown Superstore, Grantham


Job Title: Weekend Warehouse Assistant Distribution Downtown Grantham
Closing Date: Monday 27th October 2014

We are looking for an enthusiastic assistant to join the Warehouse Distribution team at Downtown Grantham.

Based primarily in ‘Customer Collect’ you will be required to locate and pick stock – some of which may be very bulky – and assist customers with their purchases. You should be well presented, possess excellent customer service skills, be literate, numerate and able to communicate at all levels. You will be required to process all relevant paperwork according to Company policy.

Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial.

You will be working both Saturday 7.25 hours and Sunday 6 hours for two weekends out of four. You should be able to offer a flexible approach to working days and times and be available to work additional hours if required, including during school / college holiday periods and on Bank Holidays.

Job Title: Full-Time Flooring Estimator / Sales Advisor Downtown Grantham

We are currently recruiting for a professional, customer-focussed sales advisor. The role entails successfully measuring for floor fits and following through to resulting sales. Excellent customer service skills are essential as you will be visiting customers’ homes as well as securing sales alongside your colleagues in store.

The successful candidate will be a competent problem solver with effective communication skills. You will be a key point of liaison between clients and fitters in order to ensure the smooth flow of orders and a successful fitting process. You should be well presented, PC literate and confident when dealing with any administration required. Previous experience in a similar environment would be beneficial, as would wider knowledge of the carpet industry.

Job Title: Self-Employed Carpet Fitters Required Downtown Grantham
Closing Date: Monday 3rd November 2014

We are currently looking to expand our supply base of self-employed carpet fitters to complete jobs on behalf of Oldrids & Downtown on a flexible basis. The work will entail fitting a wide range of floor coverings from carpet and vinyl to Karndean and Ted Todd wooden floors.

As a Downtown sub-contractor you would be expected to provide excellent customer service, have an outstanding knowledge of fitting and take great pride in your work. You will need to liaise closely with the Estimators and the Sales team in the allocation and completion of jobs. We would expect you to have your own vehicle and fitters insurance and be flexible in your approach to work (completing customer’s fittings on weekdays and weekends).

Job Title: Part-Time Coffee Shop Supervisor Downtown Lincoln

We have an exciting opportunity in our Downtown Lincoln store
for a part-time Coffee Shop Supervisor.

You should have basic cooking skills and previous experience of working in a similar Coffee Shop / Restaurant environment, as well as excellent customer service, communication and administration skills.

You will be expected to support the Coffee Shop Manager and deputise for her
in all aspects in her absence, including staffing, customer care, ordering,
stock control, and ensuring that hygiene standards are met.

Previous supervisory experience and a food hygiene qualification are preferred,
although not essential.
