Delivery Options

This page tells you the delivery charges and options on which we supply any of the products ("Products" ordered on our website www.oldrids.co.uk "our site") to you. Please read this page carefully before ordering any Products from our site.

The available delivery options and cost will be presented to you at checkout.

Please note that we currently offer delivery to mainland UK only and do not deliver on Public Holidays.

If you'd like to have items sent to an address other than your billing address, please select this option at checkout. 

We also offer a click and collect service. Please that this is available for orders to collect from our Downtown Grantham Superstore and Downtown Grantham Garden Centre only. 

No-one At Home : Standard Delivery

If you or the intended recipient are not available, the carrier will attempt to leave the delivery with a neighbour. The carrier will leave a card with details of where the delivery is or how a new delivery may be arranged.

No-one At Home : Furniture Delivery

If you or the intended recipient are not available, the carrier will return to the warehouse and contact you to rearange a delivery time. They will hold the stock for 10 days and if a new delivery time has not been arranged, the order will be returned to Oldrids. 

Please note that if our furniture delivery partner delivers at an agreed time with you, and there is no-one at home, then Oldrids will charge a no-show charge of £50, or the cost of the delivery, whichever is higher.

Standard Delivery for small items:

Mainland UK under £50  -  £4.00

 

Delivery within 3 to 5 working days between 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Delivery to British Forces Post Office (BFPO) is included.

 

Local major appliance delivery

Local delivery for appliances under £400 - £9.50
Local delivery for appliances over £400 - FREE

 

Delivered by our own courier, usually between 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
They will contact you prior to scheduling to organise delivery.
Major appliances including fridges, freezers, dishwashers and washing machines are
only available to local postcodes. To see whether your postcode qualifies, use our
delivery checker on the product page.

 

Next Day Delivery for small items (Weekday)*: CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE

Order before 11.30am for Next Working Day delivery between 9.00am - 5.00pm.
Orders placed on Thursday after 11.30am will arrive on the following Monday.
The first available delivery for Next Day orders placed after 11am on Friday, any time on Saturday & Sunday is Tuesday.
Orders are unable to be delivered on bank holidays, and will be delivered the day after. This includes next day deliveries.

Mainland UK under £2999  -  £19



Dispatch within 7 to 12 working days on all in stock furniture and major domestic appliances.

**We are unable to offer standard Furniture delivery to the following postcode areas: Some AB, IV, KW, PA19+, PH7+, LD, SA31+

For Appliances, we can only deliver to the following postcode areas: DN, LE, LN, NG & PE.

Our furniture and large electrical deliveries will be made by our own delivery fleet, if you live within 40 miles of our distribution centre at Downtown Grantham. For Furniture outside of this delivery area, we use delivery partners. Where possible they will do their utmost to put the items in the room of your choice, and take the packaging away but please be aware that on rare occasions, this will not be possible.

Delivery by Email

In the case of E-Tickets or Vouchers purchased through Oldrids website, E-Tickets will be sent to the email address that you provide us with when ordering. You are required to print a copy of your e-ticket out before attending as this will be needed to gain entry on the day. 

The first email you receive will be a booking confirmation only and will arrive immediately after your transaction is complete. This is not your ticket and will not be accepted as a valid ticket

The second email will arrive shortly after your booking and will contain an e-ticket attachment that you can print at home. This single-use ticket will be used to gain entry on the day. Please remember to bring a form of ID with you on the day (such as a passport, driving licence or debit card).


Delivery Terms & Conditions - Furniture Orders

General Terms

  • Where your purchase must be ordered in or the delivery time is more than 30 days, you have the option to pay a 20% deposit at the time of order.
  • Orders cannot be cancelled once they have left our warehouse for despatch. Please see our returns and refunds policy for details on how to return your order. 
  • For Made to Order and Special Orders, please note there is a cancellation fee of up to 25% if the order is cancelled. In these circumstances, it is unlikely that we can sell the product to another customer at the full selling price

Delivery dates

  • For non-stock items, the estimated delivery date is provided to you in good faith based on the information we receive from our suppliers. 
  • All delivery dates are approximate and cannot be guaranteed or implied as an exact delivery date
  • Oldrids & Downtown will make every effort to satisfy any critical delivery date if notified
  • Oldrids & Downtown will notify the customer of any delays which may occur
  • Prices are valid at the time of order
  • Oldrids & Downtown regret that prices agreed in your sales contact cannot be amended. We do not pass price increases onto the customer, but likewise, if the goods stated on the contract are reduced after the order has been placed we will not amend the agreed price

 Settlement of Account

  • Unless notified otherwise by the customer, full payment will be taken prior to delivery being scheduled
  • Full order purchase price must be paid via debit/credit card or paypal
  • Full and complete title to the goods will remain with Oldrids & Downtown until payment is made in full

 Conditions of Sale : Furniture and large item delivery

  • All orders are subject to availability
  • For furniture deliveries outside of our own despatch team's catchment area, your customer details will be communicated to our trusted courier partner(s).
  • Deliveries are scheduled for specific areas on set days, however every effort will be made to accomodate your individual requirements. 
  • For all furniture deliveries our courier will attempt where possible to give an indication as to what time a delivery can be expected. Please note that it is not possible to give a specific timed delivery.
  • The customer must action the removal of any doors, windows or objects in the room to ensure that access is clear prior to delivery being made
  •  Oldrids & Downtown will not be held responsible should the items ordered fail to fit into the property
  • In cases of inadequate access, the delivery team may abort the delivery or on the customer's instruction attempt delivery under supervision. Any damage to the goods and/or property which may occur as a result are entirely at the risk of the customer
  • Wherever possible the delivery team will position the goods in an area as directed by the customer. Access to and from the room in question must be cleared prior to delivery. It is the responsibility of the customer to remove/dispose of any existing furniture necessary to aid the delivery team.
  • In most cases, all packaging will be removed and take away. Please note that on rare occasions, this may be possible.
  • Any items returned due to not fitting in the property are subject to a restocking fee, please contact servicesonline@oldrids.co.uk for any questions on this.

 

 

Damages or shortages must be notified within seven days following delivery

  • Oldrids & Downtown accept no liability for any damages or shortage should notification be received after the seven day period has elapsed
  • If the customer fails to take delivery of the goods, Oldrids & Downtown will hold the goods for up to 14 days from the time of advising the customer we have received the goods. For any questions about a delayed delivery please contact servicesonline@oldrids.co.uk
