Garden Design Competition

Garden Design Belvoir Castle Flower & Garden Show

What is it?

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone to design their own garden! All the displays will be on show at Downtown Garden Centre, Grantham, throughout March 2020. Judging will take place at the Downtown Garden Centre 20th Birthday on 28th March 2020 by garden design experts Charlie Dimmock, David Domoney and Andy Tudbury!

The top 5 designers then build their gardens for display at the Belvoir Castle Flower & Garden Show on 18th & 19th July, after which you get to win all the elements that have been incorporated into the build.

What do I need?

Entrants will need to design a 3m x 3m outdoor space with planting, outdoor building, furniture and hard landscaping to a value of £1,000 or less. The elements of the garden to be selected from the ‘shopping list’ which can be downloaded below. Each garden design must contain some eco-friendly elements such as a hedgehog hotel, wild flowers, composting and most importantly a tree!

How do I enter?

Once you have selected your items to use from the shopping list, please submit your finished design in A3 size or larger, as a drawing, print out or CAD rendering along with the shopping list and entry form.

The entry form can be downloaded here.

Is it for anyone?

Absolutely! Whether you are a complete novice; a keen amateur; a professional garden designer or landscaper, feel free to enter. Also organisations that would benefit from improving their outdoor space – schools, colleges, charities, doctors surgeries or hospitals – are absolutely welcome to enter as well.
