Downtown Store Grantham

Womenswear Sales Assistant

Every day our customers are inspired by a range of quality products and services offered at our Downtown Store Grantham.  Our aim is to provide each customer with an exceptional service that complements our extensive product range and caters individually to their needs.

We are seeking a Sales Assistant to work on our Womenswear department on a part-time basis.

You will focus on offering excellent customer service in a busy and varied environment, building rapport with customers, and delivering expert product recommendations to maximise sales opportunities.  You will also undertake general housekeeping within your area and till work, as required. 

You will be at an advantage if you have relevant retail experience.  This is not essential, and training will be provided as required.

Hours are 25 per week usually worked on four or five days a week during store opening times. Flexibility is key and you should be occasionally available to work varying shift patterns and differing days if required.

Furniture / Flooring Sales Assistants

Every day our customers are inspired by a range of quality products and services offered at our Downtown Store Grantham.  Our aim is to provide each customer with an exceptional service that complements our extensive product range and caters individually to their needs.  

We are seeking two Sales Assistants to join our Lounge and Dining furniture departments and flooring department working either 30 or 18 hours per week.

You will focus on offering excellent customer service in a busy and varied environment, building rapport with customers, and delivering expert product recommendations on a whole range of furniture and room sets to maximise sales opportunities.  You will also undertake general housekeeping within your area and till work, as required. 

Although full training will be provided, you will be at an advantage if you have relevant retail experience or an interest in interior design.

Hours are usually worked over five days a week during store opening times, including weekends.  Flexibility is key and you should be occasionally available to work varying shift patterns and differing days if required.

Weekend Customer Experience Assistant

To support the aim of enhancing our customer experience and play a part in the day-to-day operation of our call centre, we are seeking an Assistant to join our team at weekends.

Responsibilities of this role include managing customer enquiries via various channels including telephone and e-mail.  You will be required to respond professionally and in a timely fashion, tailoring each conversation to the customer’s needs to deliver and maintain an excellent service. 

Successful candidates for this rewarding and varied role will be enthusiastic, well presented and confident at communicating with a wide range of people.

Although not essential, applicants would be at an advantage if they have previous experience assisting customers or working in a similar environment. 

Hours are 6 per week usually worked on either Saturdays or Sundays during store opening times.  However, a flexible approach to working days and times is desirable, and you should be available to work varying days and additional hours if required, including occasional shifts during the week.

Administration Assistant

Our Downtown Grantham site continues to go from strength to strength.  To play a part in the day-to-day operation of our Grantham store, we are seeking an Assistant to join our Accounts Office team.

Duties include the management and maintenance of customer’s Premier and Rewards accounts, daily financial and banking administration, offering customers assistance with transactions using our till and stock control systems and facilitating our customers furniture orders, from the point of order to delivery, to liaison with suppliers, then communicating delivery dates and times to customers.  These are some of the duties that make this a varied, interesting and sometimes challenging role within our team.

You should be well presented and have excellent customer service skills. Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial. 

Hours are 30 per week worked on five days a week during store opening times, including weekends.  Flexibility is key and you should also be able to work additional hours or varying days occasionally, if required.

Restaurant Assistant Manager

Our Restaurants across both our sites at Downtown Grantham and Downtown Grantham Garden Centre have for many years offered our customers quality food and beverages and a well-earned rest from their shopping.  

As we head into our busy summer period, we are currently seeking Assistant Managers in both of our Restaurants to deputise on a full-time basis, working 38.75 hours per week over five days a week during our store opening hours.

To be successful in this role you must have relevant catering experience, ensuring that you will be effective when supporting the Restaurant Manager in delivering a seamless service, with an eye for detail and the ability to lead by example, inspiring and motivating your team.

You will play a key role in all aspects of planning staffing of our restaurant teams, ensuring high standards of customer service and satisfaction for our customers.  You must be confident and capable to liaise with suppliers to ensure that adequate levels of stock and equipment are maintained.  Ideally, you will also have the skills, qualifications and previous experience to work as a cook, although this is not essential.

In order to meet customer demands you must have a flexible approach to working days and times, and you should be available to work varying days if required, including weekends and late afternoons.

Downtown Garden Centre, Grantham

Cafe and Kitchen Assistants

Our Downtown Garden Centre Restaurant has for many years offered our customers quality food and beverages and a well-earned rest from their shopping.

Playing a vital part in the day-to-day operation of our Restaurant, we are seeking a Café Assistant working 22.5 hours per week, and a Kitchen Assistant working alternate weekends.

Duties for our Café Assistant include serving customers, till work, clearing and cleaning tables and using the dishwasher to clean plates, bowls and cutlery, maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation within a superbly tidy environment.  You may also occasionally assist with other tasks such as helping with stock replenishment and barista work where trained and when required.  

Duties for our Kitchen Assistant include preparing the delicious meals and refreshments we have on offer with speed and efficiency and driving high standards of customer satisfaction whilst maintaining excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards.  Within this area you may also occasionally assist with housekeeping tasks such as helping with stock replenishment when required.  

Hours do not include evening work and are usually within store opening times.  Flexibility is key, and you should be available to work occasional varying shift patterns and differing days if required.

Building / Landscapes Sales Assistant

Do you take pride in your own garden or enjoy outdoor DIY projects?  Whether you have a love of gardening or enjoy designing your own outdoors you could be the Salesperson with the passion we’re looking for to join our Gardening, Leisure Furniture or Buildings and Landscapes departments at our Downtown Garden Centre, on a permanent basis.

By when should I apply?
